Implementation: 2023/2024
Solutions in use: HE.RO with heat pump, GreenTec Performance System (GPS) Smart Water/Smart Energy, Smart Heating
Description of the project
Sustainability plays an important role for the B.Braun Group. The Bad Kissingen renal centre served as a pilot project for the company to test our solutions in operation.
Objective: Utilisation of solar surpluses and increase self-consumption rate of solar power to 85 %.
Our services as GreenTec Dialysis GmbH:
Following a potential analysis and the specialist planning based on this, including the application for public funding, we carried out the project as general contractor.
We have implemented our Smart Dialysis concept consisting of Cross sector integration with PV and our HE.RO in combination with a heat pump, as well as our GPS as control and monitoring software.
Installed PV power: 97.5 kWh peak and 2 x 1000 litre buffer storage tank for using excess solar energy during dialysis-free periods (e.g. Sundays).
We have networked our installations with existing water technology.
We call the combination of sector networking and our GPS "Smart Dialysis®". Smart dialysis® enables our customers to save costs while consuming less energy and water.
This is how we as an industry are getting closer to the goal of green dialysis.
Benefits
- Savings on electricity consumption of approx. 90,000 kWh/year (forecast)
- Savings on water consumption of approx. 500,000 litres/year (forecast)
- Reduction of CO₂ emissions at approx. 57 tonnes/year (forecast)
- Relief for employees through digitalisation of logging activities (e.g. daily log)
- Savings on service costs through digitalisation of the water treatment system (remote monitoring)
