Innovation begins with curiosity and commitment
GreenTec Dialysis as challenge donor at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences hackathon
In mid-November, we had the opportunity to take part in a hackathon at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences, where four teams of students took on the challenge of one of three companies.
Our GreenTec Challenge: The motivation for data collection in dialysis centres with a focus on sustainability.
Over two and a half days, students from different disciplines worked together to develop solutions. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, they impressed us with their ability to understand complex problems and propose creative ideas.
For us, the willingness to work intensively with young people for two days on complex issues is a living culture of innovation. Hans Peter Barth and Martina Ackner represented us at this event with commitment and enthusiasm.
What have we learnt?
- To Complex problems to solvesoshould minvest more time in understanding the problem in all its facets. Hasty solutions can miss the core of the problem.
- To think "out of the box", you should team up with people from other backgrounds and disciplines. This makes it easier to think outside the box and promotes innovative ideas.

The hackathon was a valuable experience full of inspiring perspectives. Such formats help us to remain agile and to question our ways of thinking. We can warmly recommend this approach.
