Description of the project:
The new Diaverum Kidney Centre Hamburg Wandsbek combines the former Hamburg sites Alter Teichweg and Wandsbek, creating one of the largest and most modern dialysis centres in Germany. The new centre offerst patients and staff improved facilities and technical infrastructure.
Objective:
As part of its new-build project, Diaverum Germany was looking for a partner to develop a comprehensive and future-proof concept for its dialysis technology. Particular emphasis was placed on a sustainable design.
Our concept enables Diaverum to provide dialysis care of the highest standard. At the same time, at its largest centre in Germany, the operator can save on energy and water compared with conventional set-ups, thereby optimising operating costs.
Our Services as GreenTec Dialysis GmbH:
Following the specialist planning for medical technology and the development of the GreenTec sustainability concept, including the application for public funding, we were commissioned to implement the project.
We implemented our Smart Dialysis® concept, consisting of Cross-sector Integration, including our HE.RO heat recovery systems combined with heat pumps, as well as our GPS monitoring software.
The installation included two dual-stage DWA reverse osmosis systems with hygienic hot-water disinfection, two concentrate mixing systems from B. Braun, and a custom-designed media supply rail with the corresponding distribution systems.
Our in-house developed CPG (Chlorine Protection Guard) continuously monitors chlorine levels in drinking water in accordance with DIN EN ISO 23500. The device removes chlorine using activated carbon filtration and triggers an alarm if chlorine concentrations exceed the defined threshold. Chlorine can damage reverse osmosis membranes and may potentially reach the patients. This poses a risk to patients and must therefore be prevented.
With Smart Dialysis®, we work together with our customers to move closer to the goal of greener dialysis.
