Green dialysis - an opportunity for the future

Dialysis therapy has a considerable impact on the environment. The treatment requires an enormous consumption of resources. For ecological and economic reasons, it is therefore necessary to rethink sustainable behaviour. For this reason, the electricity and water consumption of a dialysis centre should be continuously recorded as a basis for saving electricity and water. The use of renewable energies, intelligent transport management for patient journeys to dialysis treatment, sustainable material procurement, recycling to reduce waste and a consistent cradle-to-cradle strategy also make sense. - Green dialysis ideally combines medical progress with sustainability and economic profit.
