Project description

Goal: Reduction of electricity consumption, optimization of system and operating costs, more sustainable dialysis

Our services as GreenTec Dialysis GmbH:

Following a potential analysis and the resulting technical planning, including the application for public funding, we implemented the project as general contractor.

We realized our Smart Dialysis® concept, which combines Cross-Sector Integration with PV, our HE.RO system in combination with a heat pump, and our GreenTec Performance System (GPS) as control and monitoring software.

Installed PV capacity: 64 kWp and 3 x 1500-liter buffer tanks to store solar surplus during non-dialysis times (e.g. Sundays).

We connected our installations with the existing water treatment infrastructure.

We call the combination of Cross-Sector Integration and our GPS “Smart Dialysis®”. This smart approach enables our customers to save costs while using less energy and water. As an industry, it brings us closer to the goal of green dialysis.

Benefits

• Savings in electricity consumption for dialysis of approx. 55,000 kWh/year (forecast)
• Reduction of CO₂ emissions at approx. 24 tonnes/year (forecast)
  
• Reduction in water consumption of approx. 575,000 liters/year (forecast)
• Relief for employees through digitalisation of logging activities (e.g. daily log)
• Savings on service costs through digitalisation of the water treatment system (remote monitoring)
