Description of the project
Sustainability plays an important role for the B. Braun Group. The Bad Kissingen Kidney Center served as a pilot project for the companyto test our solutions in a live operational environment.
Objective: Utilize solar surplus and increase the self-consumption rate of solar power to 85%.
Our services as GreenTec Dialysis GmbH:
Following a potential analysis and subsequent detailed planning, including the application for public funding, we implemented the project as the general contractor.
We deployed our Smart Dialysis concept, which consists of sector coupling with PV and our HE.RO in combination with a heat pump, as well as our GPS as control and monitoring software.
Installed PV capacity: 97.5 kWp and 2 x 1000-liter buffer tanks to store solar surplus during dialysis-free periods (e.g., Sundays).
We integrated our installations with the existing water technology.
The combination of sector coupling and our GPS is what we call “Smart Dialysis®.” Smart Dialysis enables our customers to save costs while consuming less energy and water.
This brings our industry closer to the goal of green dialysis.
