GreenTec Dialysis GmbH from Heidelberg was founded in 2021 by the experienced serial founders Norman Bürkle and Falk Sommer. The company plays a pioneering role in the ecological development of the haemodialysis process, which is used millions of times worldwide. GreenTec Dialysis focuses on "SMART DIALYSIS" or "smart dialysis": the intelligent coupling and digital networking of medical technology and green technologies.

They are the first in the world with a consistent focus on "green dialysis". With SMART DIALYSIS^®GreenTec sector networking, paired with comprehensive digital services, the interdisciplinary team has succeeded in significantly reducing electricity and water consumption in haemodialysis. GreenTec Dialysis is thus setting new standards for more environmentally friendly treatment that also saves operating costs.

This plays a role in social sustainability:
Forecasts predict that by 2030, 14.5 million people worldwide will be required to register. Of these, 9.1 million patients will not have access to treatment¹. More efficient methods are a prerequisite for giving more patients in developing countries access to vital dialysis.

SMART DIALYSIS^® also improves working conditions in dialysis centres. It relieves those responsible in medicine, care, technology and management of control activities. This gives them more freedom to concentrate on their core activities. Patients also benefit from this.

With their expertise and smartly networked products, the GreenTec Dialysis team supports the implementation of the European Union's Green Deal goals. They work closely with dialysis providers, dialysis suppliers and other stakeholders to drive industry-wide innovation.
