GreenTec Dialysis GmbH

GreenTec Dialysis GmbH, based in Heidelberg, was founded in 2021 by the experienced serial founders Norman Bürkle and Falk Sommer. The company plays a pioneering role in the ecological advancement of the haemodialysis process, which is used millions of times worldwide. GreenTec Dialysis focuses on “SMART DIALYSIS”: the intelligent coupling and digital integration of medical technology with green technologies.

They are the first worldwide with a consistent focus on “green dialysis”. With SMART DIALYSIS^®, GreenTec’s Cross-sector Integration combined with extensive digital services, the interdisciplinary team has succeeded in significantly reducing electricity and water consumption in haemodialysis. GreenTec Dialysis is thus setting new standards for more environmentally friendly treatment that also reduces operating costs.

This also matters in social sustainability:
Forecasts suggest that by 2030, 14.5 million people worldwide will require dialysis registration. Of these, 9.1 million patients will not have access to treatment¹. More efficient methods are essential to enable access to life-saving dialysis for patients in developing countries.

SMART DIALYSIS^® also improves working conditions in dialysis centres. It relieves those responsible in medicine, nursing, technology and management from monitoring tasks. This gives them more freedom to focus on their core responsibilities, which also benefits patients.

With their expertise and smartly networked products, the GreenTec Dialysis team supports the implementation of the European Union’s Green Deal goals. They work closely with dialysis providers, dialysis suppliers and other stakeholders to drive industry-wide innovation.
